Swap Meet, 2010 - 2011
Swap Meet (by M0bile Pr4ctce) is a trade table in the gallery space with paper sculptures, number, and labels. The labels' texts were also placed in advertisements online, inviting visitors to take one of the sculptures in exchange for handmade items. In this way, we could coherce visitors into creative acts. An example of one of the ads: "2010 model of a vintage, 1950s travel trailer. You can't find these anywhere else. It is white and orange (almost the color of the fruit). It's teeny-tiny, almost fits in yer' pocket-but don't put it in your pocket cause it's made of paper and it will get messed up if you put it in your pocket!!! Looking for 3D home-made models of four wheelers, go carts, atvs, trucks with plows, and of course cash (fake cash that you make out of paper and crayons and stuff). Can negotiate." More of these ads can be read at the Swap Meet. |
