The Distinction Between Being Grounded and Airborne, 2008flash animated video, 3'46" "This dark comedy animation is about our fear of the inevitability of death. The protagonist, a stick figure with a squeaky voice, narrates his trials and tribulations when dealing with his fear of his basement, specifically, that it is an evil entity plotting his death. The narrative approaches the subject with humour and a certain level of the absurd by showing the protagonist repeatedly bouncing down the stairs. The pathos of the narrative, however, brings the viewer back to focus on the reality of the topic when the narrative reveals these fears are founded on true experience – that the character's grandmother died this way. Ultimately, the narrator concludes that death is inevitable and should not be dwelled upon." (curator Sarah Leslie)
